WMS Masquerade Ball 2016

img_2483.jpgHaving two maths exams did make the first week back at uni stressful, but it was really great to have the Warwick Maths Society Ball to look forward to at the end of the week! When Saturday finally came around, I was so excited to get all dressed up and have a fun night out, and it certainly did not disappoint!

We were taken by coach from campus to Chesford Grange in Kenilworth, where we greeted by drinks and members of Warwick Magic, who performed close up magic tricks while we waiting to have dinner. Personally though, I really enjoyed people watching; everyone looked amazing in their formal clothes, and I especially loved everyone’s masks!

Dinner itself was a three course meal, with wine and water on the table. All of it was tasty, but my personal favourite was the sticky toffee pudding…. My only criticism was the lack of custard! We were sat with some other first year maths students, and so it was great toimg_2486.jpgmeet new people.

Following dinner, there was a quiz (with a couple of maths questions of course!), some prizes (think sharpest suit, cutest couple etc) and then the disco started! The songs were just the right mix of cheese and dance, and soon enough everyone was up and dancing!

img_2485.jpgOnce we had danced as much as we could after the huge dinner- and after a visit to the photo booth!- we got the coach back to campus, which was when we realised that it had been snowing! As the coach dropped everyone back at the bus interchange, we had to walk across campus back to Westwood, our accommodation, which was made so much more fun by all the snow!

It was such a good way to round off the week, and celebrate the end of our January exams!
