I remember being at sixth form and having received offers from the universities that I applied to. It was such a difficult decision to choose which university would be my first choice and which my insurance. I hope that today I can help resolve this dilemma and offer some reasons as to why you should consider the University of Warwick.
Firstly, as one of the Russell Group Universities, it is assured that the standard of education at Warwick is very high. Just holding an offer for Warwick University is a momentous achievement due to the high quality of candidates that apply and the qualifications required to enrol. Consequently, the teaching is of equally high quality to match the students’ performance. The professors, the facilities and the academic support are all truly incredible and enable the most rewarding learning experience. For some subjects, such as Business Studies or Accounting and Finance, I would say that you couldn’t get better than Warwick. The Business School is internationally renowned and highly regarded by many employers. All in all, the academic reputation of the university is unmatched.
In terms of offering an environment from which to build a solid career, Warwick University excels. The Careers Services are always willing to help students and offer regular guidance and support for those who desire it. There is an annual Careers Fair, which welcomes the best employers to the university in order to inspire and motivate the students to join their firms. Equally, the Student Union regularly hosts finance and law focused presentations with big names in the industry. All of these events are exceptionally helpful for discovering the career that suits you best, as well as providing you with the information you need to succeed in your summer internship or graduate role interviews.
Finally, and in some respects, the most important part of university life: the social life. Warwick University offers its students a broad range of societies to participate in from the first week that you join. There is a Fair to help decide which societies you suit best and if none of them fit what you were looking for, you are more than welcome to create your own. Societies are a great way to make new friends outside of your course and your accommodation, and so I definitely recommend getting stuck in to as many as you can in your first year! In terms of nightlife, Warwick students are spoilt for choice. As well as having access to the Student Union bars and club on campus, Warwick students have the opportunity to travel to Coventry, Leamington Spa or even Birmingham for a night out, as the university is situated nearby to all three.
During my four years at Warwick, I have met such a diverse group of people; each of whom has helped shaped me to be the person I am today. I truly cannot imagine having attended any other university, as Warwick has managed to excel in every category. I cannot recommend the university enough and I hope that you will give Warwick the chance to prove to you just how magical your university experience can be!
