Linking to my previous blog on student budgeting, I thought it would be useful to write a list of the best student discount platforms to use.
Unidays:
- Discounts on clothes, general items and in restaurants – for example, IKEA has £10 off when you spend £75, which may help when purchasing university supplies. Also, for an evening meal with friends Pizza express in Leamington Spa has 30% off food at the moment!
Student beans:
- This platform is similar to Unidays but with a different variety of shops and restaurants. It is worth having accounts with both means of discounts.
Railcard 16-18:
- Trainline offer a student railcard which costs £30 for 1 year or £70 for 3 years. In the long run it saves money as it means you are able to save 1/3 off train tickets.
- TOPTIP – If you open a student bank account with Santander, it comes with a free 4-year railcard.
Boots student discount:
- As a student, you can receive 10% off your toiletries, and health and beauty essentials. This can really be helpful when living away from home as toiletries can get expensive, and although it’s only 10% every little helps.
- If you have a boots account, you can link your student discount with your boots card so when you scan your card the money comes off automatically.
Specific to Leamington Spa:
Indyleam:
- This is an app which provides discounts to eateries and shops, specifically in Leamington Spa and Warwick. The subscription is £1.99 a month or £19.99 for a year.
- Even if you subscribe just for Hart&Co, you will not regret it as you get 2for1 on cocktails!
I hope you have found this blog useful! Get saving money!
Until next time, Kaitlyn x
