Welcome back to Warwick for another year of reoccurring mental breakdowns and anxiety of not meeting deadlines to those who have returned after summer (jk) and hello freshers!

Since most of us will have arrived at Warwick by tomorrow, I thought I would write a blog listing some major events happening on Warwick campus in the week ahead.

WELCOME PARTY FT. CLUB MTV- 21.00 to 01.00 on Friday 29, Saturday 30 September and Sunday 1 October

Whether you want to show off some sick dance moves you’ve got to your new flatmates or to start a new academic year with an unforgettable night with your course mates you haven’t seen for the whole summer, head over to Copper Rooms at Student Union building. Tickets are only £5 on the door, alternatively, you can purchase a freshers’ tshirt on the Piazza in front of the SU from 12pm and enter for free before 23.00. Don’t forget to bring your ID and student card!

FRESHERS FAIR- 9.00 to 17.00 on Saturday 30 September at SU building

#1 reason why you should not miss this important event: FREEBIESSS- did someone just say freebies? Yes! Who doesn’t love some free stationary and maybe even Nando’s vouchers? Oh, and on top of that, free Domino’s!! At the fair, you will be able to find out more about all kinds of opportunities here at uni, such as part-time jobs, discounted magazine subscriptions and online job search platforms. So make sure you head over to SU Atrium and Copper Rooms at 9am sharp before they run out of pizza.

SPORTS FAIR- 9.30 (for students with specific access needs)/ 10.00 to 17.00 on Tuesday 3 October at Sports Centre

Whether you want to play netball competitively or attend a Thai boxing class just to distress and stretch your body after a long day, Warwick Sports has got you covered! There are a grand total number of 65 Sports Clubs you can choose from. You’ll get the chance to meet execs of the student-run clubs and learn more about what they do. Remember to bring your student ID in order to join the clubs on the spot!

SOCIETIES FAIR- 9.30 to 17.00 on Wednesday 4 and Thursday 5 October at Sports Centre

Here at Warwick, we study hard and play harder! There are more than 250 student-led societies at Warwick. If you’d like to do some research on what societies that may interest you, go to www.warwicksu.com/societies for detailed description of all the societies.

VOLUNTEERING FAIR- 10.00 to 15.30 on Friday 6 October at Panorama Room, Rootes Building

There are many volunteering opportunities here at Warwick, ranging from working with local charities such as Myton Hospice to running Chess Club during lunch time at a local school, there’s always something for everyone. For more information about Volunteering Fair 2017 and volunteering clubs at Warwick, please visit http://www.warwick.ac.uk/volunteeringfair.

HALL WARS- 22.00-2.00 on Monday 9 October at SU building

Want to represent your accommodation halls in some fun-packed games like laser shooting and rodeo bull? Make sure you don’t miss out on this excellent bonding experience with your flatmates at this legendary club night. Tickets are £6 if you don’t have a Freshers Pass or Annual Pass.

Hope everyone is feeling refreshed and excited about the coming year at Warwick like I am since this will be my last year here at Warwick.
