Welcome to December and the last month of the year 2022!
How does that make you feel? Exciting times? New Alignment, new Projects?
Personally, I have a mix of emotions. Excitement and curiosity. However, I feel a start of new beginning coming up. What about you?
Recently, I have been walking alongside Coventry and Birmingham city centre and we can see the festive season enlighting them. A nice warm feeling. It is not only a sign of family reunion for those who celebrate Christmas or those who can celebrate it but a time of slowing down and having a break. It is also a time to honour the transition into a new year. The new year of 2023…How time goes fast, almost like a blink of an eye!
At the same time, there is the Football world cup 2022 taking place and it adds to this festive sensation. How lovely it is to gather in one nation and meet several others. Also, I really like the handshakes and accolades between players and coaches at the end of a game. This is a great way to show people about mutual respect and dignity no matter the circumstances or conditions. I think it is very professional too and a great example of showing mutual consideration even if losing is not always pleasant, but it is sometimes necessary to grow or improve.
Alongside the December festive season and in our “European” continent, the weather is also taking its place. Soon to be winter and we are all trying to embrace it the best we can; Wearing warm clothes, having warm drinks, and even using electrical blankets or water bottles. 😊
Also, I found that a vigorous walk or steam/sauna experience is an addition to a nice way to keep fit and warm all at the same time. We cannot escape the season unless we decide to go to a warmer place elsewhere in the world for a few months! So, let’s try to mindset ourselves into a warm and positive reflection. I would say, an approach to well-being or mindfulness.
Here’s few advice to keep going until our half term and carry on throughout autumn and entering winter:
- Get a warm drink that makes you happy! -personally, I love a good hot chocolate with coconut milk-
- Have an outdoor walk now and again
- Enjoy the festive activities if you like them
- Keep fit with the exercise that you love
- Try steam and sauna once a week if your health permits
- Occasionally having a nice evening dinner with family or friends
- Watching a good film or series
- Don’t forget to get cosy and sleep even if it is earlier than usual. Days are shorter and colder after all 😊
Should you have other tips or advice, please do not hesitate to contact me, or reply to this blog. I am sure there are plenty of others, but I will leave it with you to teamwork 😊
Have great weeks ahead everyone and good luck to those watching the World Cup!
Peace and Love
