Top 3 reasons why The University of Warwick has been the best place for my Degree Apprenticeship
So, now that you have taken the decision to do a Degree Apprenticeship and you have Warwick on your mind. You want to know what it’s like to study here. Well, you are in the right place. I want to give you an insight into my experience of my apprenticeship at Warwick.
Here are my top 3 reasons why Warwick has been the best place for me to do my apprenticeship.
1. Warwick equals support
Doing an apprenticeship is challenging and I strongly believe that you need to be in a supportive environment to thrive. At Warwick, that’s exactly what I got from day one. From the lecturers to the course coordinators everyone is supportive and helpful. Whenever I’ve had any concerns about a module or needed to talk to someone during the high-pressure times, such as exam periods, the people at Warwick have always been there for me. I have been able to rely on them not only with academic and professional support but also for morale.
2. Block releases have let me live the student life (at least for a week)
Block releases are excellent, as they offer me the opportunity to study at the university for a week, forget the working world and enjoy student life. I get time to visit the bar, spend time with my friends, use the library and make the most of the short time I get to spend on campus.
3. 6 months on 6 months off allows me to manage my time
Unlike a full-time degree, I study from January to June where I do all my lectures, exams and coursework. This has given me the opportunity to balance my social life and work. In the remaining 6 months, I work towards my IEng qualification and I get to have a break from studying too!
I could have a never-ending post on how Warwick has been the best choice for my apprenticeship but I hope these 3 reasons have encouraged you to consider Warwick as I did. I guarantee that you will not regret it.
Best of luck!
