Term 3 Excitement
I hope that you are all keeping safe and well. I’ve been wracking my brain to try and think of blog content and decided that I wanted to talk about a controversial feeling- excitement for the start of term.
I know what some of you might be thinking: how can you be excited about anything at a time like this? Well, let me explain. I’m not so much excited for the online exams as I am for a sense of structure. I’ve been trying to create structure for myself during the Easter break (helped along by upcoming essay deadlines), but I think that the start of term will bring with it something more concrete. As much as I’m not looking forward to the exams, I am quite intrigued as to how they will work.
Also, and this one is going to sound really sad, I’m excited to have different emails to read! There’s only so many times a day that you can scroll through your social media feeds and read emails from the CEO’s of every single company you’ve ever interacted with! I’m looking forward to getting emails from my department, just to feel more connected.
Furthermore, I’m awaiting essay feedback for two of my essays. I’m due to receive both sets of feedback on 22nd April (which is also the date that the exam timetable for May/June is released). In normal circumstances, I hate receiving essay feedback. My stomach literally drops every time that I log on to Tabula. However, I’ll at least have something to look at! 22nd April is set to be a big day in my ever increasing diary of events, haha!
Finally, Term 3 is the term in which I get to learn who my dissertation supervisor will be and also what I need to prepare over the summer. I’m very excited about beginning my dissertation as I will be writing on a topic that is close to my heart and one that I feel has not been explored enough. So, that’s something to look forward too!
I know that things are uncertain right now. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve had my darker days. However, I hope that Term 3 can bring at least a little bit of pleasure. Are you looking forward to Term 3? Let me know in the comments below. Stay safe all!
