Summer fun and thoughts in Dissertation
The last two weeks have been pretty busy. I’ve had a job at Warwick University doing a bit of admin work; it helps with the pennies over the summer. It has also reminded me why I’m doing this degree, I can’t sit behind a desk for the rest of my working life – I get way too easily bored. Don’t get me wrong I’m grateful for being able to do a bit or work and it supports me over the summer. Plus working I’ve still been doing my voluntary work, trying to get some experience in the areas I would like to go into when I graduate, although I am also thinking about a masters degree afterwards.
We had Faith’s parents evening. I think ever parent is proud when they hear that there child / children are doing well at nursery or school. I also attended the CLL CPD Early Years event on Sat 11 June. If you considered doing this and didn’t go, if this happens again, it is worth going on. I wanted to go specifically for the talk on safeguarding and it didn’t let me down, there was so much information and gave me a lot of food for thought! Plus it was FREE and we all know how much we students like free stuff! I even got a free bag and pen, along with some lovely little cakes J
While Faith is still at nursery I’ve been looking and reading around my dissertation subject. I know that might sound sad to you, but I really want to do well on it and I want to be able to do it to the best of my ability and not leave it to the last minute. I’ve had a few chats with my personal tutor and got a few more books out of the library.
I’m looking forward to the beginning of July. The first thing is the CLL end of year party, if you’re not going why not? We’ve had loads of fun the last few years, it’s definitely worth going to, plus it’s a great chance to meet other ‘mature students’ and get more of a feel for the university, especially if you are based at a college. After this we have a family holiday planned, I can’t wait to have some quality time with John and Faith and some days out making some memories for Faith. I want to take her to the Big Sheep, if you have no idea what this is Google it; it’s a great day out for kids. I remember going when I was little with my family and I loved it!
