I don’t really have a plan for this blog post. I just wanted to come on and have a chat with you. How are you doing? I know that this is a very weird time for us all. Some of you may be happy that university has been cancelled, but I assume that the majority of you don’t like the uncertainty of this. I feel exactly the same. The prospect of having to sit my exams online is really strange to me, although I know it’s for the best.
I have Cerebral Palsy, so according to government guidelines I have to self-isolate. This doesn’t really bother me at the moment, but I’ll get back to you on that in 12 weeks time. I know that these precautions have been put in place to help the NHS, so the the sacrifice is worth it for me. How do you feel about self-isolation/social distancing?
I know that what I’m about to say has been constantly drummed into your heads for the past however long, but please practice social distancing and wash your hands. Although you may feel as though your single contribution won’t help, please follow the guidance that we have been provided with. We all need to work together in these uncertain times. The more we pull together, the greater chances we have at beating the virus sooner rather than later.
I know that all of this may seem endless, but it really is only temporary. We can do this. Just keep in your mind that this will all be over eventually. Things may not be exactly ‘normal’ but I’m sure that there will be a returning sense of normality.
I’ll be back soon with something more coherent but I just wanted to check in with you guys. Let me know in the comments how you are feeling about the whole situation. Are you feeling positive or negative? Either way, let me know. Remember, you are not alone.
