Hey guys,

Tomorrow marks my first online exam, and I’m actually feeling good about it. I don’t mean to blow my own trumpet, but I’m revising really hard for exam season. I know that the safety net policy has been put in place to protect our grades from the detrimental effects of Coronavirus, but I still want to try my best. I thought that I’d use today’s blog post to share my routine and talk about how I stay motivated whilst revising, especially now the weather is getting nicer.

During the lockdown, I’ve been waking up most days at around 9am (which is actually quite late for me). I don’t actually start revising until about 10am. I use the hour beforehand to ease into the morning. I’ll eat breakfast and perhaps watch a bit of YouTube. I find that I’m much more productive if I don’t automatically rush into revising as soon as I wake up. It gives me time to start the day off right.

I’ll then revise until around 12:30pm at which point I’ll stop and have lunch. By this time my brain is usually fried, so stopping the revision at this point is a good thing. I’ll start back up again at around 1pm and finish at around 4pm-5pm, depending on how much I want to get done that day.

At around 5:30pm, I’ll have tea (or dinner, I know that this is a point of contention). Yes, I know this is early, but it’s just the way we roll. I’ve taken to eating in the garden recently and it has really helped me to stay motivated. After staring at the same four walls all day, it’s nice to know that I’ll have other things to look at when the revision is done. It’s also really nice to get some fresh air.

At around 6:30pm, after I’ve come in from the garden, I carve out some time for Animal Crossing: New Horizons on the Nintendo Switch. I find this game (and the franchise in general) really relaxing. This is also something that keeps me motivated, as I really look forward to carrying out my virtual routine within the game. The game seems to have taken the world by storm, and it’s great to see it bringing people together!

After doing this for awhile, I’ll usually watch some more YouTube/listen to some music. I get into bed at around 8:30pm and then watch television with my Mom until about 10:30pm-11:00pm. That’s where my day ends!

I hope that this has been of interest to some of you and I hope that you all continue to stay safe and well. How have you been staying motivated? Do you have any tips? Let me know below!
