Hello, I’m Maura!
I’m a fourth year student at Warwick, studying Early Childhood (part-time).
I’ve worked in various office roles for the past 20+ years; however, I’ve always wanted to do a degree course. You could say – work and life just got in the way! Now, I’m in a position where I can finally do a degree, I’ve found a subject that I’m passionate about, and I feel very lucky to be able to complete my degree at the University of Warwick.
Outside of my studies, I’m a wife and mother. I have a beautiful four year old daughter, who I love spending time with. And, before the current pandemic, she had a very active social calendar, which included lots of days out and meet-ups with her little buddies.
I also have a passion for travelling. I’ve backpacked around Asia, Australia and New Zealand (with my husband), I’ve taught English in China, I’ve helped renovate a centre for children with learning difficulties, in Peru, and I’ve visited six of the seven continents (just Antarctica to go!). I make a point of visiting a new country every year (however, that won’t be happening in 2020!). I find travel so enriching. I love visiting new places, meeting new people and learning about different cultures, and I’m so looking forward to being able to resume travelling, once this pandemic is over!
Whilst studying at Warwick, I thought that it might be nice to try something new and give blogging a go. I’ve been blogging now for the past 3 years and I really enjoy it. Hopefully you’ll also find my blogs enjoyable and engaging, and maybe even informative on occasion!
