I’m Kayleigh, a ‘Mature’ Student studying a 2+2 Degree here at Warwick. Having worked in Sales for ten years and just managing to keep my head afloat being underpaid whilst juggling full time work and 2 children, I decided It was about time I bit the bullet and did something for myself before It was too late. (I’ve since come to realise it’s never too late!).
At the grand old age of 29 and studying this Social Sciences degree, I’m already seeing the world in a different light and taking a keen interest in politics and Research Methods is something I never saw myself even being capable of, let alone getting stuck in to and in fact, really enjoying!
So yes, I’m a mum to 2 wonderful children Reagan and Cohan and now coming to terms with that study/home life balance, many of us feel so daunted by when thinking about returning to education after many years. To make the transition from working the rat race of same thing day in day out, in a role that I know like the back of my hand, to now taking myself out of my comfort zone and pushing my abilities to better the lives of my little ones. I’m hoping my blogs will shed some light on how this is possible and that although not always easy, with great motivation it can be done. I am a great believer that life is too short to not ‘Go for it!’
I hope you enjoy my blogs and feel free to get in touch!
