Hello, I’m Claudia, a final year Hispanic Studies and Italian student and I thought I would start off by telling you a few things about myself… 1. I am 22, and was born in Surrey, England. 2. My father is Italian and was a chef. 3. I am probably the most indecisive person you will ever encounter. 4. I have A Levels in Spanish, English Literature, History, Fine Art, and an AS Level in French 5. I am a lover of alliteration, pattered trousers and herbal tea. 6. Before coming to Warwick I completed a Foundation Diploma in Art and Design at the University of Creative Arts, Epsom specialising in Fine art. If you fancy a nose and feel like a spot of procrastination, you can take a look at some of my work here: 7. Much to the amusement of my friends, my ultimate dream is to set up an alpaca farm in New Zealand. 8. In fact, after six months studying and travelling in South America, I am practically obsessed with alpacas and consequently own more alpaca jumpers and socks than I can count. 9. I have a passion for languages and literature, and although my dad is Italian, before coming to Warwick I had never studied it, nor had my father ever spoken to me in it…ehem, not impressed. However, perhaps had he, I wouldn’t be studying it here at Warwick now and that would have been a shame indeed. 10. The best part of my degree so far has undoubtedly been my year abroad. As a joint honours student I had the opportunity to study for the first six months in Santiago at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, before moving to the medieval city of Siena, Italy where I studied for the remainder of my year at la Università degli Studi di Siena. From sand boarding, climbing active volcanoes, galloping through sand dunes on horseback and copious amounts of cappuccinos and aperitivos, the memories and experiences I encountered on my year abroad will stay with me forever…And yes, I documented it all here on this blog for you all, every step of the way. The aim of this blog is to give you a little taster into what life is really like as a Hispanic Studies and Italian student. Please feel free to comment or ask any questions, I will be more than happy to try and help. Claudia x
