Hi everyone! I’m Sophie and I’m studying English Literature and Creative Writing here at Warwick. I’m in my third year now, but you can read my previous posts to see what I’ve been up to ever since I first came to Warwick as a Fresher in October 2015! As you might have guessed from my choice of degree, reading and writing is what I do best (or try to, anyway!) so it’s great to be able to spend my time at Warwick doing just that – and I can’t believe that this is my last year already! I come from a little town in Norfolk, so moving to university was a big change for me as I’m no longer surrounded on all sides by fields. However, Warwick was the perfect decision for me and I have no regrets at all. When I’m not buried in a book or scribbling down poems, I love to let out my creativity in other ways. I’ve always been a big art lover, but I’m not very good with a paintbrush, so I’m quite content walking around galleries and admiring other people’s efforts instead. This has led to me working part-time in Warwick’s very own gallery, The Mead Gallery. I can normally be found stomping around campus looking like a tortoise with my ever-present backpack, or studying in the reception area of the Writing Programme in Millburn House. I’m also President of the Writing Society, and you might also recognise me if you’ve come to any Open Days or Offer Holder Days in the English department, so don’t be scared to say hello if you see me around! If you have any questions, feel free to ask me, and I hope my blog is helpful!
