Plans for exams
I don’t know if I’m the only one who has begun to worry about exams but I cannot help thinking that exams are coming up in a few months. Nobody else has mentioned them yet but I wonder if it is because they find it equally traumatising that we’re already having to worry about exams. I mean, I only joined Warwick last October!
First and foremost, the plan is to get myself into a routine. I find that waking up late makes my day feel much shorter. An early morning start really feels like I have been blessed with a longer day and I get more work done. This also means going to bed no later than 11pm because otherwise there is no way I can wake up early in the morning.
I will no longer be revising in my room but will instead be in the library until 6pm everyday. This is very important because I end up finding a lot of distractions in my room such as my bed next to my desk or Youtube/Twitter/Facebook or I start enjoying my music or I start daydreaming. If I’ll be around people in the library, I’d be more motivated to focus and get quality work done.
With regards to society commitments, I’ll only be attending Bhangra classes. It is important that I begin to now focus on the main reason why I am even at university — to study chemistry (in case you weren’t sure). All the talks and other events can wait for next year.
It is a truth universally acknowledged that you won’t get the results if you don’t put the effort in. Time to fuel myself up with coffee and begin some real talk with the fundamentals of the universe 😉
