Now we know the roadmap for how the UK is going to lift lockdown restrictions, we are all looking forward to June, when we can finally see our friends and family! There are also a number of things you can do if you’re going to be at uni! Here is a list of places you can visit once lockdown is lifted:

  • Coventry

As the UK’s City of Culture 2021, Coventry has some exciting events planned for this year. Take a look at the website to find out more! https://coventry2021.co.uk/

There are also a variety of places in Coventry which are all worth seeing. To start off with, Coventry Transport Museum is home to the world’s largest collection of British road transport in public ownership. Also, it may be worth paying a visit to the award winning Coventry Music Museum and learning a bit more about all the artists we know and love. Coventry Cathedral is at the heart of the city and is celebrated as the UK’s favourite 20 century building, housing some of the finest 1950s and 60s art and architecture in the country. There are also a number of parks to visit in the area and the Midland Air Museum is definitely worth a visit!

  • Leamington Spa

Leamington is just south of Coventry and this town contains some beautiful parks and sites. One of which is the Jephson Gardens which not only has a picturesque array of plants but is within walking distance of over 90 restaurants! Also, the historic Royal Pump Rooms are nearby and it hosts a number of venues inside, including a museum which is completely free to visit.

  • Stratford-Upon-Avon

Home of William Shakespeare, Stratford-Upon-Avon hosts a number of Shakespeare related spots which are all worth visiting! From his birth house to the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, you can truly get immersed in all things Shakespeare! Alongside this, there are several restaurants, parks and even a canal basin where you can hop on a boat and take a short cruise along the river. If you’re there in the evening, you may find yourself on a ghost walk around the town!

  • See family and friends

Finally, you should definitely pay a visit to your family and friends! They are probably missing you as much as you are missing them and by the end of June, the time will (hopefully) come for everyone to be able to see each other!
