Uni wardrobe

Going someplace new is never easy. Especially if you don’t know anyone there, that is why wherever you are going, and whatever you will do, you always need to be prepared for every possibility! There is nothing that a nicely put together wardrobe won’t be able to help with!

Getting your clothes for University can be challenging, especially since you can’t really predict or know how the people from your year will dress like. However, there are some ways in which you can cheat the system.

The most fashionable colour

Some say if you don’t know what to wear just wear all black! Getting those few of your favourite pieces in black will definitely allow you to rotate them and look well put together.  Sometimes all it takes to look fashionable is an all-black outfit. Be that a black turtleneck, jeans, dress, blazer, or hoodie. Those clothing items will never go out of style, and you will be able to wear them for almost all occasions.

Capsule wardrobe all the way!

If you don’t know what this phrase means, it is essentially a collection of a few pieces that will never go out of style, just as the colour black. It is a perfect way of staying on a budget but also looking fashionable. Because as we all know, students don’t have that much money to spend on a new set of clothes every month. So, in order to put a capsule wardrobe together, you will need as many versatile pieces as possible. May that be your favourite pair of jeans, a jean jacket (!! essential), a faux leather jacket, a skirt and a black dress, and your chosen cosy jumper. Capsule wardrobe also lets you get rid of the tiering and time-consuming process of putting together an outfit while still looking put together! Because you will already know which piece looks nice with which.

Statement pieces

So far, we have talked about the more comfortable aspects of the student wardrobe. However, eventually, you will need to go out to a party, club or just for dinner. That is why it is smart to invest; yes, fashion is an investment; in the more out-there pieces.

They don’t have to cost you your whole student loan. Instead, you can try to find them in ZARA or even H&M. All you will need to do is look for something fun, colourful and obviously be on the lookout for the current trends! But remember, it is always worth thinking if that trend is going to last longer than 3 months…
