My Degree Is Complete!

Finally, freedom is here – exams are finished and all assignments are complete, which means I have completed my degree! It is crazy to think that my 3 years at Warwick are over, the time has literally flown by and now I am patiently waiting for (dreading) results day. Until then though, I plan to have as much fun as I can and make the most of the time I have with my university friends. One thing that I recommend for all finalists is to make a motives (adventures) list – I have been making this on the notes on my phone for the past few months whenever any of my mates thought of something we can do after exams. They range from as simple as buying Warwick jumpers, to as extreme as driving across the country on a road trip. If you have this list then you can make sure to do all the fun things you want before you leave Warwick forever, AND you won’t run out of things to do when you’re bored!

I’ll list a few of my motives ideas that some of you can steal if you wish:

  • Warwick Castle
  • Sprinkles Gelato Coventry
  • Trampoline Centre
  • Alton Towers
  • Boating in Jephson Gardens
  • Cadbury World
  • Go Ape
  • BBQ

For those of you who are struggling to fund these post-exam motives, there are easy ways you can make money! I’ve written a whole blog post on how to make money whilst at uni, but a super quick way is doing studies through SONA. These won’t give you tons of money, but it’s enough to fund your nights out and meals. Another good way, and one that I’ll probably utilise a lot, is doing 0-hour contract work. I’m employed by a beauty agency that allows me to pick and choose whatever shifts I want to do, which is so useful during times like this when your social plans can change all the time.

Right now, I’m chilling at home (in London) and I’m going to do a couple beauty counter shifts in department stores this week, as any money will help! There are loads of agencies that you can join, that differ in the departments they work in, e.g. mine varies between beauty, fragrance and fashion. You don’t typically need qualifications or loads of work experience, you just need to be a good salesperson (have confidence) so give it a go if you need flexible work this summer!

I hope those of you that have finished exams are having fun and finally relaxing. Those of you that still have a few days left of exam season, you’re almost there so stay motivated!
