Making the Most out of your Easter Break
Hi everyone, I hope you’re all having a restful Easter so far. With the holiday well underway, I thought it’d be fitting to tell you guys all about my plans this Easter, how I aim to get the most out of it, and any tips I can give to you guys!
Going into the holiday, I anticipated quite an intense Easter ‘break’. On top of needing to make revision notes in preparation for my upcoming summer exams, I also have to work on four different assignments that were set by the Chemistry department. I knew this was always going to be a struggle to manage, because naturally whenever a holiday begins, everyone automatically enters relaxing-mode. The switch-up from the intense term time at university to the somewhat less stressful holiday period can become dangerous turf, and it’s a situation I always try not to enter.
What I always do at the start of each break, is to prepare a schedule for the whole holiday duration, detailing exactly what I plan to do each day. By doing this, it allows me to maximise productivity, as well as remain organised throughout. It’s so important to make the most of each day, and so writing a daily plan motivates me to get done what I intend to do, as well as tick off everything on my to-do list.
Another benefit to this is being able to see whether or not I’m getting a good balance between working and going out. Although I have lots of work to get through before heading back to university in term 3, I’m also aiming to spend a lot of time to myself and just enjoying having some free time for once! After the term I’ve had, with constant back-to-back early morning starts, I will absolutely be treating myself to a fair few lie-ins before getting back into the swing of things…
One thing that I’ve been looking forward to doing all term is seeing my family and spending some quality time at home. Although I’d love to be stress-free on a beach somewhere abroad this holiday, nothing quite beats homecooked meals and quiet nights in with your family. Also, living in London holds so many more benefits compared to living in Leamington i.e., London attractions, FOOD, restaurants, and being able to see friends from home. It’s just so nice to be in a different environment from uni and work, so I’ll definitely be making the most of that this holiday too.
A final note from me, is to make the most of every moment of your Easter. Organise your time well; divide equal time for socialising and working – find the best balance for you. Try to be as productive as you can, whether it be to catch up with work/lectures from last term or get ahead with revision and assignments. Most importantly, remember that this is a holiday, so don’t feel guilty for taking a BREAK!!
Hope you all enjoy your Easter 😊
