Making friends at University
Hey Everyone!
I can imagine how anxious you all must be to start university and how it must feel to have a new beginning.
There must be over a hundred things going in on your mind and one of them must be on the lines of making friends at university, because this was one of my anxieties, being the shy and introverted person I am.
Who knew that while queuing at a Morgan Stanley free juice counter on one of the career open days, a girl I started talking to would become one of my closest friend at university and would end up living with me?
Who knew that the girl I met and started talking to during a very boring lecture would hang out with me till this day and become one of those clingy friends I can’t let go of even if I wanted to?
Who knew that the girl I started talking to while queueing to get my BRP card during orientation week would become one of my go to people?
These are just a few examples to say that university is all about having different experiences, learning new things about yourself, meeting people in the wildest ways possible, who will change you, challenge you in more ways than more ways than you can fathom.
This is also to tell you that your closest friends may not be your flat mates, and so if you don’t get along with them, don’t worry, because it is not the end of the world. Join societies, join the gym, take part in different events, go out, meet new people, because, who knows your best friend at university might turn out to be the person you always make eye-contact with but never speak to at every 9 AM Monday seminar.
Hope you have a lovely day and thanks for reading!
