Life after Exams

The excitement of finishing exams is starting to die down and the reality of finding things to fill up your days is starting to appear. It may sound odd but when you finally finish exams it’s extremely strange knowing that you can do whatever you want without that guilty feeling of not doing revision. So this is a post to give you ideas of what to do now you have time to do it!

Firstly make sure you have some ‘me time’.

After weeks of working hard and a whole year of getting used to uni you deserve a break! Whether this be through a shopping day or a few days back at home, make sure you do something completely unrelated to work to get you back into a relaxed state of mind.

Organise your summer.

You’ve now got a whole summer ahead of you to take time out from your busy work life. Make sure you spend this time wisely! Getting a temporary part-time job could be a great opportunity for gaining experience and earning a bit of extra money for the new academic year. However, work experience is also an amazing way to use your time as it bulks out your CV and gives you a chance to sample potential employment sectors.

Finalise your housing for next year.

Hopefully you’ll have everything sorted for your accommodation for either first year (applying for accommodation choices online) or for second year off campus housing. But make sure you spend time finalising all the details for the new house by organising things like wifi and appliances (iron, kettle etc).

This is just a short list of things to help you fill up your long summer break but it should get you on your way to a productive few months away from university. So sit back, relax, and enjoy your free time!
