Just a reminder as we step into 2020!
At a close of a year, reflection is underway, resolutions have been set in place and Christmas has just about left us; things can seem very overwhelming. I, and I’m sure many others, constantly feel like i’m not doing enough and this leads to a vicious cycle of procrastination because I am too busy stressing about the long list of things I need to sort out and what I need to do to better yourself in the coming year instead of doing these things.
These years at university leave you feeling like you need to make the most of every second, have fun and go crazy, jump into every new experience but also learn how to save money, become an adult, think of your career goals and future ambitions and gain experience. Especially now as we enter 2020, you may be saying that this is finally the time to make the most out of life but also to get your act together and it can seem like a heavy weight on your shoulders.
So, I am writing this blog post as a reminder to myself and maybe to those reading this, to take a deep breathe, take each challenge as they come and that sometimes looking at the fine details can make things clearer instead of just looking at the whole picture. Write short term goal lists that can eventually turn into long term goals and take every week as it comes if you are feeling like it is all too much.
One of the most important things in my life is my well-being and the well-being of others around me and I make sure to try my hardest to support my family and friends but also myself. I would love for 2020 to be a year where everyone is feeling a little bit confident, exploring their ambitions together and getting the self care they need.
Happy 2020 to everyone and remember to look out for your friends, for yourself and to acknowledge everyday small victories that come your way!
