How to make money without the time

If you’re a student, chances are you are looking for a job. However if you have never had a job before it can be difficult to know where and how to look for one. I have quite a full schedule due to my course and couldn’t fit in a full time, or even part time traditional job into my term time, so here is a couple ideas for you if you are in a similar situation.

- Tutoring
Use your academic skills to make you money! Either ask around for students or sign up to websites like MyTutor, Preply or Superprof. I personally teach maths and science on MyTutor and you can choose whether to have weekly sessions with the same student or just substitute the odd lesson. This works very well with my schedule, as if I have spent too much money on a night out, I can always have a look on the website for a pupil.

- Hobbies
Do you enjoy making art? Sell it on Etsy! I make earrings in my spare time and it is super easy to upload them and make some money out of a hobby I would be doing anyways.
Do you play a musical instrument? Teach someone! Start a you tube channel!
You don’t need to fully commit to anything, but just be aware that your hobbies could lead to side hustle if you tried.

- Unitemps
Sign up to the Unitemps website to see what jobs are available at the university. This could be anything from a study blogger, to a one off model to help medical students.

I hope these ideas inspire you to try out different ways of making money and help you see that there isn’t one way to do it!
Harriet 🙂
