How I spent a Sunny Spring Day During Easter Holidays
The sun has finally decided to grace us with its presence for way longer than we are used to and everyone is taking advantage of it outdoors. I only recently realized that most of my blogs tend to be structured so I am going to let this one be a little different and let it flow.
Just a few days ago, there was a heat wave in England and the temperature got up to 23°C for around two days. I decided to take a bus to Kenilworth Castle which is a beautiful and historical attraction very close to the university and roamed around Abbey Fields right next to the castle. There was a lake with geese and the flowers were blooming all over the place. The spring made the entire place breath-taking. For anyone who likes to visits castles, Kenilworth Castle is a must-try because it is so close to the university and Abbey Fields is so close by to have a mini picnic.
I was of course not done here 😀 From Abbey Fields I took a bus to Leamington Spa to visit the Jephson Gardens which was the best decision I could have made because the weather was perfect for a great day-out. Jephson Gardens overlook the river Leam and on a sunny day all you need is a slushy and a bench to sit and enjoy the view by the river. Jephson Gardens is one of the prettiest places near campus and during spring it was so lively and great to visit. It is perfect for those who like greenery and nature.
After a refreshing walk around the Jephson Gardens, I decided to head back to the university. When I got off at the interchange, I could not stop myself from getting large fries from a food truck. The curly fries are literally the best and the homemade big mac sauce just compliments them wonderfully. I had to get the carbs in after a long day of walking 😛
I had the fries while taking another short walk at the Tocil Woods Nature Reserve which is my go-to place to relax and feel connected to nature on campus after a hectic week of assignments. It is perfect for morning jogs, evening strolls or just to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee with a splendid view of the lake. I then headed back to my accommodation after a long but delightful day.
At the end of the day my heart was filled with gratitude and I felt euphoric after the day I had spent outside. With all the assignments and online learning, I was so happy that I could take this day off to enjoy it to the fullest. There is so much beauty in and around the campus and I hope this encourages you all to find happiness in the smaller things we tend to take for granted. Sometimes all we need to wind down is large fries and our favourite drink while watching a serene sunset by the lake 😛
That is all for today. I hope you all enjoyed the blog. Go explore the beauty of nature around you!
