Home for Christmas
As far as my flat is concerned, Christmas started in mid-November when we put up the tree so we could enjoy it for a few weeks before breaking up for the Christmas holiday. Now I’ve been home for a few days, and advent has actually started, I thought it would be a good time to share how I’m going to try to make the time off as productive, relaxing, and festive as possible.
During the holiday, I’m going to be doing some course reading ahead so I can get on with my first assignments for the term once I’m back at Warwick without having to worry about seminar prep. I’m also going into my school to talk to some Year 13s about what the move from school to university is really like, as well as share some A level tips I would have found useful last year.
But I won’t be working too hard! It’s been an intense term and it’s so good to get home. This holiday, I’ll be catching up with my school friends and spending Christmas week with my family. One of my friends from uni is coming to stay with me for a couple of days too, which I’m really looking forward to! In the meantime, I’m enjoying watching the new series of The Crown, which I’d been saving for the holidays.
Although I’m already in the festive spirit from the flat decorations, as well as visiting Birmingham Christmas Market and ice skating at Warwick Castle in the last few weeks of term, it really feels like Christmas now that the holidays have started. I’ll be going to a pantomime next week (is there anything more Christmassy?) and as I live near London, I’ll hopefully get to walk along Oxford Street and see all of the Christmas lights there, too.
Whatever you do over the holidays, I hope you have a fun and relaxing time!
