We reached week 10 already, and I can say that I so ready to go back home for the winter break. Why am I am that enthusiastic? Well, I have my first Russian test in week 10 and I also have my first summative essay deadline on 15th December, and many others in January, so life is definitely not good this particular time of the year. I tried to keep on top of things and to start early on my workload, as this year counts towards my degree and I definitely want to use my writing time effectively and focus more on the details, structures, my comprehension of the readings. The efforts have definitely paid off as I worked hard even for the formatives I had to write in November. So far so good and I plan on doing this entire ‘productivity scheme’ the entire second year.
On a more happy note, Romania is seriously one of the prettiest countries to visit during winter! Winters are rough here especially in January, but if you forget about the cold weather, you can have a great time going to the mountains and ski resorts in the Carpathian Mountains or to the beautiful medieval cities such as Brasov, Sibiu, Sighisoara, Cluj-Napoca, Timisoara. I can promise you that the landscapes will be breathtaking and your holiday will be one to remember.
As far as my plans go, I will return for 4 weeks to Constanta, my hometown, a beautiful city located on the Black Sea coast, known for its’ famous port, The Port of Constanta, which is the biggest port on the Black Sea, and one of the largest ports in Europe. Even if during the offseason many people claim that Constanta tends to be ‘dead’, I find that you can still do many activities and not get bored here: going to the movies, strolling down the frozen Casino and old town sceneries, going to the Christmas Market, spending quality time with your family and loved ones as you are away for so many months during your studies. I seriously miss my hometown filled with all the people I love: my parents, my friends, my teachers, and all my dearest childhood memories.
