Easter and Essays

So we’re just over 2 weeks into the Easter holidays and despite finding time to eat more than enough chocolate eggs, the enormous pile of work is still mounting up on my desk. Unfortunately, the reality of the Easter break is that your time is completely filled up with essays, revision…and more essays. While some subjects finish their assignments in term 2, lingustics and language students aren’t so lucky! I’ve just completed my third essay of the holidays and am starting to feel some relief after making a dent in that daunting pile of work, but I know that there’s still a long way to go before I can even start my revision for the summer exams. Luckily my exams this year are all within a week which sounds a bit scary, but having them so close together means I get to finish them all without them dragging on for weeks.

It’s not all work and exams though! I’ve used my Easter holiday wisely, spending time with friends, family and (most importantly) my dog. The best thing about Warwick’s 10 week terms is that your Easter holiday is an incredible 5 weeks long! My friends at other universities don’t get a holiday this long, but having 5 weeks off means that you are still more than likely going to overlap with their Easter holiday.

This weekend I am also supporting a friend who is taking on the Three Peaks Challenge with Warwick RAG Society in order to raise money for Meningitis Research Foundation. Her name is Fiona Macintosh and she’s studying Economics, so check out her Facebook page for information on events she’s holding to raise money. This week she has arranged an afternoon tea for everyone who lives in our area. I can’t wait to see some school friends and help her raise money for a great cause!

I hope everyone’s had a great Easter!

Beth
