Current Life as a Degree Apprentice

I have been back at university since this January, and now I am in year 3 of my apprenticeship. Things seem a bit different as I have a Level 6 group project on Structural Engineering. Other than the group project everything else seems the same as last year with all the learning done online.
I personally enjoy online learning as I can take my time to understand concepts and work through questions, it has also been made easier by my lecturers providing good quality content and resources and I am aware that this is not the preferred way for some.
The project has been different as this is the 1st one of this type and working together as a group making time that fits everyone’s calendar has been a challenge but it is working well now. Having the meetings as a group also is fun as it allows us to discuss many ideas and work collaboratively with each other.
This year I also have Concrete Structures, Steel Structures and Geotechnical Engineering – I, these modules are a mixture of QMP and coursework where the coursework will be done throughout the next few months and I will sit for all the QMPs in the last week of June. Having finished all the modules now it is much easier to plan the learning for the QMPs which I will cover in another blog post.
The only downside at the moment is leaving work for a week as my responsibilities have increased, it has been difficult to leave a project for a week as things can change a lot within that time but having supportive colleagues who have been keeping me constantly updated has been very helpful.
I am enjoying all the university modules so far and I am looking forward to finishing year 3 as I know by then I would have finished half of my apprenticeship, which is exciting. I hope I gave a brief outline of my current life as a Degree Apprentice.
