Language, Culture and Communication

Hello! My name is Elena Sandu and I am currently studying Language, Culture and Communication at the centre of Applied Linguistics. I am originally from Constanta, a lovely city located on the Black Sea coast in the country of Romania, where I lived all my life. The reason I chose Warwick is because I have always dreamed of studying in the UK, as languages and arts have been my biggest passions since childhood, and I figured the system here works accordingly to my career plan. Warwick is in the top 10 Universities in the UK, whilst being part of Russel’s Group and that has definitely determined my final list of UCAS choices, Warwick taking the 1st place.

So far life as a fresher has been exciting and I can say now, as it is January, that I have matured a lot since October. I never thought I will be able to manage going to all my lectures and seminars, doing my readings, homework and assignments, cleaning my room, cooking, buying groceries, partying and travelling. Although somehow I did and I can say the final part of 2015 (starting from October) has been one of the best journeys of my entire life.

Through my blog posts, you will experience the University world through the eyes of a fresher and I promise I will write as sincerely and as wholeheartedly as I can. Entering adulthood has been quite a roller coaster with all the responsibilities and being on your own in a foreign country, therefore, I will also include some of the funniest and trickiest parts of it all as there have been a few. Please, take a seat and enjoy!

Anything!
